Shepherd’s pie is part of the historical heritage of Quebec, it is comforting, warm and mostly filled with simplicity and authenticity for a cheap meal! Try our recipe if you don’t already have your own!
Ingredients:
For the beef
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- Oil, butter, for cooking
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the corn
- 14 oz of cream corn
- 11 oz of whole corn kernel
For the potatoes
- 4 or 5 yellow potatoes
- Milk for the purée (about 1/2 cup), to taste
- Butter for the purée (about 1/4 cup), to taste
To garnish
- Chopped parsley and paprika
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Cook the potatoes in your Arezzo Dutch Oven in salt water.
- Meanwhile, heat the butter and oil in your Remy Olivier fry pan. Sauté the onion until it becomes translucent, then add the ground beef. Cook and set aside.
- When cooked, drain the potatoes and mash them with the help of your Think Kitchen potato ricer/food press and add the butter and milk until the texture becomes smooth.
- In your Think Kitchen glass rectangular baking dish, put in the ground beef, pour in the cream corn, whole corn kernel and top with the mashed potatoes.
- Garnish the dish with chopped parsley and a pinch of paprika, if desired.
- Heat the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
