Grilled Octopus – Easy prepping with the Quickpot!

If you’re an adventurous seafood fan, we’re willing to bet you’ve got a thing for octopus. But have you tried making it at home? *Cue shocked face* We know it can seem daunting, but the Quickpot is the easiest way to make the tastiest octopus with the best texture. Forget chewy octopus, this one is cooked to perfection!

Don’t let the task at hand intimidate you—this recipe is actually super easy and you’ll only need a few simple ingredients.

Ready to get started? Here’s what you’ll need:


Ingredients:

2 lbs octopus, cleaned

1 lemon, sliced

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 cup water

Preparation:

Put water, octopus, and half of the lemon slices in your Quickpot. Close the lid and turn the valve to a Sealing position. Press the “Pressure Cook” button and set the timer to 15 minutes on High Pressure.

When the Quickpot is done cooking, quick-release the steam, open the lid, and drain the octopus.

Slice the octopus into strips, and while you’re slicing it, cut off and discard the hard beak that’s in the center of the octopus body.

Then, place the octopus on the grill for about 3 minutes, or until you get a nice char on the pieces.

Season with a pinch of salt, ground black pepper, and smoked paprika before serving with the rest of the lemon slices.
