Healthy, homemade and refreshing our watermelon sorbet is the perfect end of summer treat.
Serves: 10 people
Ingredients
- ¾ cup water
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 6 cups of watermelon, seeded and cut into chunks (If you want to speed up the process, freeze the watermelon chunks.)
- 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
Instructions
- Combine water and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Turn heat to low and simmer for 6 minutes. Turn off heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Place watermelon and lime juice in a food processor and pulse until smooth. Process less if you want to have chunks of watermelon in your sorbet.
- Add in sugar mixture to the combined watermelon and lime juice.
- Churn the sorbet in the Ricardo Ice Cream Maker, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Freeze your sorbet or use your OXO ice cream scoop and serve immediately.
