Watermelon Sorbet

Healthy, homemade and refreshing our watermelon sorbet is the perfect end of summer treat.

Serves: 10 people

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup water
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 6 cups of watermelon, seeded and cut into chunks (If you want to speed up the process, freeze the watermelon chunks.)
  • 3 tbsp fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Turn heat to low and simmer for 6 minutes. Turn off heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  2. Place watermelon and lime juice in a food processor and pulse until smooth. Process less if you want to have chunks of watermelon in your sorbet.
  3. Add in sugar mixture to the combined watermelon and lime juice.
  4. Churn the sorbet in the Ricardo Ice Cream Maker, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Freeze your sorbet or use your OXO ice cream scoop and serve immediately.
  6. Enjoy!
