Presenting your eerie desserts is just as important as the treats themselves. We created a spine-chilling black cake adorned with spooky elements and decor. 4. Black and Dark Accents

To complete the Halloween look, make sure to incorporate dark, black accents wherever you can. We used a black dinnerware set and paired it with a black and gold flatware set and used drinkware with black stems to complete the look. This created a cohesive look for a perfectly spooky and aesthetically pleasing Halloween tablescape.

Ingredients:

“Blood” Drip-Rim:

1 tbsp corn syrup
1/4 tsp. liquid red food coloring

“Lychee Eyeballs”:

4 blueberries
4 tinned lychees in syrup, drained
Red food colouring

Cocktail:

2 1/2 oz. orange juice
1 1/2 oz. tequila
1 oz. grenadine

Preparation:

“Blood” drip-rim:

Mix together corn syrup and red food coloring in a wide, shallow bowl or rimmed plate. Let stand at room temperature for 1 hour to thicken up a bit.
Dip the rim of a youri glass in corn syrup mixture. Set glass upright to let drips form.
Repeat with additional glasses.

Lychee eyeballs:

To make the eyeballs, gently push a blueberry into the middle of each lychee and secure with a cocktail stick. Using the tip of another cocktail stick, add some red food colouring into the grooves of the lychees, to resemble veins. Set aside.

Cocktail:

Combine orange juice and tequila. Pour into prepared glass.
Slowly pour grenadine down the side of the glass. Do not stir.
Add in your lychee “eyeballs” as the finishing touches.
Serve immediately.

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoons salt
2 eggs
1 ½ cups milk
Candy corn
5 tablespoons melted shortening
4 tablespoons melted butter
Yellow and Orange food colouring
½ cup melted white chocolate

Preparation:
Whisk 2 cups flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, 4 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt in a large bowl. Whisk in 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cups milk, 5 tablespoons melted shortening and 4 tablespoons melted butter. Tint half the batter orange and half yellow with food coloring. Preheat a round waffle iron to the lowest setting. Spoon some orange batter into the middle and some yellow batter around it. Cook until just crisp. Separate into triangles and dip the tips in melted white chocolate. Garnish with some candy corn, of course!

Ingredients:
6 sausages
1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
1 tsp honey
12 edible “eyes”

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 180c and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll out the pastry and use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut six 1cm strips of the pastry widthways.
Wrap one of the pastry pieces around each of the sausages, trimming off the end if it is too long.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes and then turn the temperature up to 220c and bake for a further 5 minutes until it’s nice and flaky.
Using a small bit of honey to stick on the edible “eyes” and serve immediately.

You officially have sausage mummies! Serve with a dipping sauce of choice and enjoy!
