Meet your new favourite kind of cookie! These matcha green tea cookies are the most beautiful shade of green and are seriously addicting! A subtle sweetness and satisfying chew, these cookies are great on their own or with your morning coffee (or matcha!).
Here’s how to make them:

Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 tsp matcha green tea powder
Black sesame seeds to sprinkle (optional)
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, matcha green tea powder, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
In your stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
Roll dough into balls about one inch in diameter and flatten slightly to create round discs, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Sprinkle your black sesame seeds (optional).
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on a cookie sheet for two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
This is a wonderful recipe to make when you want to switch it up compared to the usual chocolate chip (or you could add some white chocolate chips in this – that would be delicious!).
