So fresh and delicious: Orange & Rosemary Cocktail

Would you believe me if I said that this cocktail was inspired by a scented candle?  I was shopping for a scented candle and came across an orange and rosemary scent and it was just such a refreshing combination of scents, my mind instantly thought of the different ways I could recreate it in real life.

And thus, an idea for a margarita recipe was born! Using simple ingredients, this cocktail is so refreshing and fragrant – it’s the perfect combination of flavours to serve all year round, but especially in the spring and summer.

Here’s what you need:

Ingredients:

1 cup of granulated sugar

1 cup water

6 rosemary sprigs, divided

1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

lime wedge for rimming edge of glass

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

4 ounces Tequila Silver

2 ounces orange liqueur (Triple Sec)

crushed ice

Preparation:

Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Bring it to a light simmer, remove from heat and add 4 rosemary sprigs. Let it steep for 1 hour. Remove and discard sprigs. Let cool.

Prepare your glasses by rubbing the rims of two glasses with lime wedge. Now, add in the orange juice, lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur  and 2-3 tablespoons of your homemade rosemary simple syrup, in a shaker. Shake well to combine and incorporate all the ingredients together.

Pour over ice. Garnish with remaining rosemary sprigs and enjoy.

Each sip is a burst of sunshine, with the added delicious savoury touch from the rosemary. This cocktail is always a winner! If you make this recipe and want to share it with us, tag us on Instagram @stokesstores and use the hashtag #StokesMoments.
